Whether you use head phones or ear buds, it’s almost impossible to make it through the day without listening to your favorite jams!

As a kid, you already know that EVERYONE seems to be unable to survive without a pair of ear buds or headphones. You have probably also witnessed how many of them break, get lost, or are “borrowed” and never seen again over the course of a year. These little ear phones can be expensive to replace, making anyone willing to spend $5 to $10 on a cheaper set. What if I told you that you could buy them for under $2, then resell them at school, on the bus, or in the neighborhood? Keeping them on you at all times is important, as most people will buy ANY headset if they will not be able to replace them for a few days otherwise.  Continue reading Easy to Sell: Kids Earn TONS with Cheap Ear Phones

How to Collect & Sell Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds, Hazelnuts, and More!

Nuts: we love them in thousands of different foods, yet many of us truly do not realize just how expensive these nuts really are! Small bags of shelled nuts can go for upwards of $7; and that is per POUND. In shell nuts will cost over $3 per lb, making it a perfect business opportunity for the kid with a little too much time on their hands. This is a super easy job; it just requires that each kid learn about the different nuts and trees, then takes the time to find the trees and collect the nuts. Selling them will be a bit easier, especially since most nuts are falling when they are in season during the fall.

walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and pecans are all amazing nuts and seeds that you can forage for and sell. The high prices that they go for in stores is insane; break the price, and harvest them locally!

Getting Those Gardens Weeded for New Spring Seedlings

garden-557408_1280Everyone loves a garden full of fresh, juicy vegetables and fruity, floral displays that take the nose on a vacation to a far away place; but, the hard work must be done to see the benefits, something many people just don’t want to do. Almost anyone will pay you to weed their gardens, and some of those people will pay a LOT of money in order to avoid it. Try charging $10- $15 per hour depending on the size of the garden. The bigger it is, the less you charge. For small gardens that may only take an hour, try charging $20. It’s an annoying job, so it can pay well.

Dusting High and Low

13 Year Olds and up all need to find an amazing, fun spring and summer job to begin saving for their super fun vacations.
13 Year Olds and up all need to find an amazing, fun spring and summer job to begin saving for their super fun vacations.

When people do spring cleaning, one of the biggest things they forget to do is dusting. Offer to dust people’s homes for a low cost. It’s a super easy job, but it just gets forgotten amongst all of the other cleaning. Ensure that you build a nice list of items to dust, as you do not want to forget anything. Here’s a good list to start off with:

  • Ceiling Fans
  • Crown molding
  • Lamps
  • Televisions
  • Consoles (gaming, movie, music)
  • Collectibles
  • Shelves
  • Wall art
  • Picture frames
  • Tops of Cabinets
  • Bookshelves
  • Curtain rods
  • Blinds
  • Doorway Moldings
  • Etc.

Dusting Yards for Pests & Bugs

Female_Jumping_Spider_-_Phidippus_regius_-_FloridaWhen spring comes, critters follow suit. There will be bugs and pests coming from every corner of the yard, waging war on the family and the home. You can offer a special yard dusting service for the people in your neighborhood! There are particular pesticides that are sprinkled, or dusted, onto yards to eliminate ants, ticks, fleas, spiders, and other crazy pests. Be sure that you figure in the cost of the product as well as how long it takes you to do each yard. BE SURE THAT YOU WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AT ALL TIMES AND ASK YOUR PARENTS BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER A TASK LIKE THIS. You will need gloves, a face mask, goggles, and boots. You don’t want to get any chemicals on you.

Painting Fences as a Job for Kids!

Everyone loves painting; it’s fun, and it’s relaxing! Painting does require a bit of patience and skill (which you quickly get the hang of), so be prepared to work on this sort of task all day, if not for several days. Fences need to painted once every 1-5 years, as the sun fades the colors and the weather chips away at the paint. Paint can become expensive, but I would recommend that you insist that the customer purchases the paint. This way, you don’t have to purchase it and the customer gets the color they want. It also allows them to store the rest of the paint for the following year.
