Selling Childhood & Old Class Books for Super Fast Money
If you are like other kids, you probably have several old books lying around. Go ahead and dig through your room right now. How many books did you find? Do you even use them? Use the checklist below, and if you say no to 3 or more, it’s time for the book to go. Some books, like high school or college text books, can be worth $100 or more!
- Have you read the book in the last year?
- Will you need the book again in the next 5 years?
- Is it a rare book that might be worth serious money one day?
- Do you have to pass it on to your siblings?
- Is it required for any future classes?
If the answer is a resounding no, sell it!
My “How kids can make money selling old books” post will tell you everything you need to know about how children and adolescents can go about trading their old books for some moola!
As most young kids and teenagers do, you probably have social media accounts. Chances are, you have more than 100 people on your friend or follower lists that you trust, regularly talk to, or see. All of them could probably say the same about you! This is exactly why personal and private status updates are such valuable gold to companies, businesses, artists, and organizations. I cover more about this in my “selling status updates” entry if you are interested. If you answer yes to 3 or more of the following, then these types of businesses are looking to buy your updates so your friends can hear good words about them!
- Your account has 100 or more followers or friends
- You have 2 or more social network accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc)
- You log into your account and post 3 or more updates per week
- Your account has been open for 6 or more months
- Many of your friends know each other
Opening Your Own Kid’s Dog Walking Business
Do you love dogs? Most people do! This is why they are the most popular pet in just about every country on planet earth! Dogs make the perfect family companion, as they provide love, company, and protection. However, sometimes their owners become too busy during certain parts of the year, career changes, or family changes. They need temporary or semi-permanent help with their dogs, and this is where you come in! In “How kids can earn 20 dollars per hour walking dogs“, we cover everything you need to know about becoming a dog walker.
Usually, you could make money within a few hours. you can do this by knocking on neighbors’ doors who own dogs, calling up friends, or reaching out to family. Explain to them why you’re deciding to do this, and let them know how much you love dogs.
Do you have a bunch of old cell phones, electronics, devices, or gadgets laying around? Do you not use them anymore? If you have upgraded to some hot new technology, you would be wise to sell your old stuff in order to get top dollar for it. You can usually post and have these items gone by the next day, sometimes even within a few hours. Selling your old cell phones describes this in more detail, but you can also sell them to a machine that many different grocery and department stores have. They are incredibly simple to use, and pay you on the spot.
Selling Candy to Friends and Classmates
While I don’t have a post for this one yet, this might be one of the most CLEVER ones on this list! How? All I have to do is present you with the math! I’m sure it would be easy for you to sell a $0.25 piece of candy with no problem, so pay close attention:
- Let’s say you buy a 10 pack of single Reese’s Cups. It probably costs you $1 when it’s on sale at the local grocery store, especially during halloween. That makes each piece worth $0.10. If you sell them at $0.25, you make $2.50; more than double what you paid.
- In another instance, you might buy a 100 pack of Dum Dum suckers for maybe $5. At the same price ($0.25) the candy (valued at only a staggering $0.05) would bring you $25!!! That’s 5 times more than what you paid!
If these ideas don’t get your mind turning about candy, I don’t know what will. You could even MAKE your own candies and save even more money, all you have to do is look up the recipes and buy the ingredients. How simple is that?
